Jean

Edinburgh College of Art in 1988. She spent fifteen

“I have a
lifelong interest in fabric, textiles and pattern, the
paintings based on both Japanese and Indian designs
are intended to create a sense of order and peaceful
simplicity. Even when the colours may be bright and
vibrant, the overall feeling is intended to be calm
and still, with space and order creating a feeling of
comtemplation. The combination of simplicity of line
and composition with sometimes extravagant colour and
pattern is one that will always provide inspiration
for me.”
