Sarah Anderson grew up in Galloway surrounded by peaceful woodland, rugged moorland and beautiful coastline. From an early age her interest in art was nurtured by her family, especially her mother, who teaches art in the local school. In 1999, Sarah graduated from Edinburgh College of Art and, following a hugely successful Degree Show, decided to commit herself to painting full-time. She comments “I love to spend endless hours outdoors walking, sketching and writing about how our weather and its effects change the light, colour and atmosphere of our landscape…” and will often go straight to the studio to translate those fleeting images into intense paintings.
