I was born in Edinburgh and attended Edinburgh
College of Art in the early 1980's. I have exhibited in
numerous private galleries in Edinburgh over the years.
My work has been included in the R.S.A. annual exhibitions
on various occasions and I was represented for a time
by the Contemporary Fine Art Gallery in Eton.
After concentrating for some years on painting figures,
and abstract work, I am now focusing on still life - a
subject that has always fascinated me. I like to take
ordinary mundane objects and try to create a sense of
mystery and harmony whilst maintaining a flatness to the
overall composition. I use acrylic paint, building up
transulcent layers of colour, working meticulously with
a very small brush. This process takes time and requires
a lot of patience.
