Edinburgh based painter Sarah Cameron has come from a family of established artists - both her father Roger, and uncle Roy, were professional painters - and Sarah followed in their footsteps by attending Edinburgh College of Art (graduating in 2003) and being represented in the College's notable collection. Her stong, atmospheric work captures brilliantly the drama of the Scottish land and seascapes which so inspire her. Lightness and darkness being key elements in her work, she fills her painting with textures and emotions, conveying a sense of being in the landscape, rather than merely observing and representing it. Since starting to paint at the age of 15, Sarah has proceeded to create a name for herself, and she now paints full time from her studio here in Edinburgh, exhibiting successfully in mixed and solo exhibitions around the country.
