Mary was born and grew up in Dundee. Having always yearned
to paint, she studied part time at Glasgow School of Art,
combining painting with working as a PA. By 1994 painting
had taken over and she decided to paint full time. Since
then she has taken part in many exhibitions to wide acclaim,
both in Britain and overseas. She is a member of the Glasgow
Society of Women Artists and the Paisley Art Institute and
is a regular exhibitor at the RSW, RGI and Laing Art Exhibitions.
Mary now works in oils which ideally suit her fluid, painterly
style. She has a very sure sense of colour and composition
and enjoys painting a range of subjects in an expressive
manner, which captures light and colour.
