Julie has been a professional artist since graduating in 1996 with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art Painting from Loughborough College of Art and Design. She won the Astra Charnwood Prize at the end of her degree show and after leaving university, carried on her success by showing work in Habitat stores throughout the country as well as staging solo and joint shows throughout the UK and abroad. Julie worked in the Manchester Art Studios before moving to Cumbria and then Langholm in Scotland where she has build a reputation as a highly regarded and hugely successful contemporary Landscape artist. Julie ran an artists residency at Skelwith Fold nature reserve and has judged art shows in both England and Scotland. After looking for a studio Julie found the derelict Bakehouse at Langholm in the beautiful Scottish Borders, then worked for 6 months to covert it into the Bakehouse Studio. She now works full-time from the studio and is involved in private and commission based painting. We are delighted to have her vibrant work here in the gallery.
