Julie has been a professional artist since graduating in 1996.
Julie graduated with a BA (hons) in Fine Art Painting at Loughborough College of Art and Design, before which she studied for 2 years at Blackburn Art College. Julie won the Astra Charnwood Prize at the end of her degree and also had a successful show at Alexandra Palace in London and another in Hartford in America.
After leaving university Julie carried on her success by showing work in the Habitat stores throughout the country and carried on to have solo and joint shows throughout the Uk and abroad. Julie worked in the Manchester art studios before moving to Cumbia and then Langholm in Scotland where she has build a reputation as a highly regarded and hugely successful contemporary Landscape artist. She ran an artists residency at Skelwith Fold nature reserve and has judged art shows in both england and scotland.
After looking for a studio Julie found the derelict Bakehouse, in Langholm in the beautiful Scottish Borders, and worked for 6 months to covert it into the Bakehouse studio. She now works full time from the studio premises, and is involved in private and commission based painting. We are delighted to have her vibrant work here in the gallery.
