| Working in oils, Hilary paints small, classically formed still-lifes, featuring fruit, silverware, pewter and enamel, and cutlery. Delicately balanced, always with a dark (black) background and with soft reflections off the dark wood table she works upon, the paintings are glowing, minature masterpieces. Often Hilary herself can, literally, be seen in her work as she will often paint her own reflection within the shine of the silverware, and this lends the paintings a tremendous humanity and warmth. We are delighted to have represented this wonderful artist for many years, and Hilary is now enjoying success across the country. |
