Mangan
has a growing reputation as an important Scottish contemporary
artist. He was born in Edinburgh in 1964 and graduated with
a BA Hons degree from Duncan of Jordanstone Art College, Dundee
in 1988. Since completing his post-graduate diploma in 1989,
his work has been shown in numerous group and solo exhibitions
throughout the UK, also in Holland and the USA .
Mangan’s figurative work is unusually
distinctive. As we explore the paintings we become increasingly
involved and understand his unique vision. His work represents
another time, another place and another world. Well known
for his scenes of the race course, the beach, the station,
the fairground and now the theatre, Mangan’s work continues
to impress.
His painting’s are admired globally
and have been purchased for many private and public collections,
including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
