Peter was born in 1954 in the Highlands, where he still lives and works, drawing inspiration from the magnificent countryside and wildlife that surrounds him.
Peter studied at Chelsea School of Art, completing an Honours Degree, but soon returned to Scotland to work in the timber and forestry business owned by his family He continued to paint throughout this time, and took up painting full time in the late 80’s, following an inspirational trip to Canada, where he admired the powerful work of Robert Bateman.
Initially concentrating on wildlife, he has now become very well known for his beautiful landscape paintings; more specifically of golf courses – namely the Old Course at St Andrews - with which his name has become synonymous.
Peters’ work has been exhibited worldwide, from Washington to London, and he has been increasingly occupied as a commissions based painter. However, we are delighted that we will be showing work of a more personal nature; his own preference and choice. Subject matter for these pieces ranges from the traditional countryside works right through to stunning still life paintings.
