Helen M Turner was born in Glasgow and was educated at Giffnock School. She now lives in Prestwick and works from a studio at home.

She joined the design studio of James Templeton and attended Glasgow School of Art in the evening, studying under Trevor Mackinson and William Gallacher for portraiture and still life. Helen continued a career in design and painting, becoming a documented designer in Aubusson, Savonnary and Bauvais, and travelled extensively abroad to this end.

Helen has designs in many prestigious establishments throughout the world, including the New York Plaza, Waldorf Astoria, Turnberry Hotel, San Francisco Opera House, and many Hilton Hotels, Liners and Casinos.

She turned to painting full time in 1990 and now exhibits in the RGI, PAI and GSWA, and has great success with her work. As well as paintings in many private collections, Helen has won several awards with her work.

Helen has paintings in the collections of the late Lord Morton, Lord McLean, Robert Fleming Holdings plc, Ramco Oil, Dunedin Fund Managers, Baillie & Gifford, the Trustee Savings Bank in Edinburgh and the South Ayrshire Council.
