| Helen
M Turner was born in Glasgow and was educated at Giffnock School.
She now lives in Prestwick and works from a studio at home.
She joined the design studio of
James Templeton and attended Glasgow School of Art in the
evening, studying under Trevor Mackinson and William Gallacher
for portraiture and still life. Helen continued a career in
design and painting, becoming a documented designer in Aubusson,
Savonnary and Bauvais, and travelled extensively abroad to
this end.
Helen has designs in many prestigious establishments
throughout the world, including the New York Plaza, Waldorf
Astoria, Turnberry Hotel, San Francisco Opera House, and many
Hilton Hotels, Liners and Casinos.
She turned to painting full time in 1990
and now exhibits in the RGI, PAI and GSWA, and has great success
with her work. As well as paintings in many private collections,
Helen has won several awards with her work.
Helen has paintings in the collections
of the late Lord Morton, Lord McLean, Robert Fleming Holdings
plc, Ramco Oil, Dunedin Fund Managers, Baillie & Gifford,
the Trustee Savings Bank in Edinburgh and the South Ayrshire
Council.
