Alan Beattie Herriot, DA ARBS

Alan has been a professional artist since graduating from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in 1971, where he studied painting under Scottish landscape painter James Morrison and finally specializing in Sculpture under Scott Sutherland – author of the Commando Monument at Spean Bridge. Over the last 20 years, Alan has been involved in the commercial field as the Director of Endeavour Art Studios, and has been responsible for many visitor attractions and monuments, both here and abroad. His work is varied in both 2 and 3 dimensions, and perhaps owes it’s diversity to the requirements of him many clients. His paintings and book illustrations are held in private collections worldwide. Recently short-listed for ‘Not the Turner Prize’, ‘The Faerie Queen’ was exhibited in the Mall Gallary, London. An impressive oil painting ‘The Battle of Killiecrankie’ was exhibited in Edinburgh Castle over the past eight years, and his monumental sculptures can be seen in towns and cities across Europe. Over the past two years, Alan has devoted more time to painting, based in his studio near Howgate, Midlothian. We are really delighted to be representing this wonderful Scottish artist, who has proved a tremendous success with our customers.
