Originally from Ayrshire, Louise attended Glasgow School of Art, during which time she won the Elizabeth Greenshields award. Since then she has gone on to establish herself as an artist with an entirely distinctive voice alongside a successful career in the Scottish arts sector.
The Lanarkshire landscape surrounding her home provides a wellspring of material for Louise to draw from; her mind wanders while exploring the countryside, seeing images and narratives everywhere. This interplay between real and imagined worlds form the source of her inspiration.
Working in a variety of media including oil, acrylic and watercolour, Louise creates detailed scenes with precise yet expressive brushstrokes that seem to swirl and sway before the viewer's eyes. This dazzling balancing act of the intricate and the uncanny ensures that her work never fails to inspire the imagination.
