Alongside our Jenny Martin Feature Exhibition is a two person exhibition of new paintings by John Kingsley and Jennifer Irvine. John’s abstract works express the energy and atmosphere of the landscapes that inspire him in Scotland, France and Norway. An ongoing conversation, John resists the urge to turn marks into a represented image, working to keep the final painting alive with the immediacy and dance of mark making.
Inspired by her trips to France, Spain and Italy, Jennifer Irvine is interested in depicting the nuances of light and shade. She draws on the way sunlight interacts with its surroundings; considering how it falls on the ornate facade of a building in Provence, and the way it reflects on the sparkling surface of a Venetian waterway. This is a beautiful exhibition of paintings by two artists, quite different but equally engaging. Please contact us for further information and images.
