Charles Simpson

Having trained and worked as a graphic designer Charles Simpson was relatively late to painting, leaving the design world and becoming a full time painter in 1999. A love of Scotland and particularly its west coast and islands has led him to Orkney, Harris, Uist, Barra, Mull, Tiree, Islay and Colonsay as well to the far north west of Durness, Ullapool and Wester Ross. A favourite painting location is the Arisaig coastline with its sandy beaches and view to the Isles. We are delighted to introduce this group of paintings within our Festical Exhibition this summer.
