Graduating in Architecture in the mid-nineties, Linda continued to develop her artistic voice before fully devoting her time to painting in 2009. She is currently based in Edinburgh, where she works from her gallery studio.
Linda’s inspiration comes from the drama of the natural world she sees all around her. She enjoys painting bold interpretations of the landscapes she has explored in Scotland and France, approaching these locations with a fresh perspective in order to create the dramatic compositions she is known for.
Beginning with observation Linda often revisits locations at different times of day, in different lighting and weather conditions and even during different seasons in order to capture the subtle variations in light and form. Working in oils with an array of brushes, knives and other implements gives her the freedom to create rich and evocative scenes bursting with colour, movement and texture.
