Rosina Payan Pecorelli
As a recent graduate from Edinburgh College of Art 2025 Rosina is an emerging maker and metal artist utilising traditional jewellery techniques with a contemporary twist.
Her graduate collection ‘Monoliths’ began along the rugged coastline of Crammond beach, near Edinburgh city centre. She spent time exploring and observing the crumbling WWII-era concrete pylons that stretch along the causeway, linking the shore to the island, becoming fascinated by the stoic forms and interpreting these structures through both wearable and object pieces.
Influenced by modern and Brutalist architecture, Rosina enjoys the process of discovering repeating forms, patterns and textures in the urban landscape and interpreting these in her practice. The sharp, structured angles of these forms contrasted with their weathered facades reflects and informs her own feelings of change and the finding of beauty in this process.
