David Schofield is an artist who lives and works in Edinburgh. He loves to tell a story, and capture a moment in time or part of an ongoing narrative. On one level his paintings feature everyday observations of his life and the lives of others but they also act as a rendering in paint of the collective subconscious, and a window into our deepest desire and fears. Dreamscapes of a sort, they provide a bridge for the viewer to travel between these two worlds.
Some of the awards David has been given include:
Latimer Award, Royal Scottish Academy, Edinburgh
The City Of Glasgow Award, Royal Glasgow Institute Of The Fine Arts
The David Cargill Award, Royal Glasgow Institute Of The Fine Arts
The James Torrance Memorial Award, Royal Glasgow Institute Of The Fine Arts
The N S Macfarlane Charitable Award, Royal Glasgow Institute Of The Fine Arts
