Peter King : Between Two Islands

Arran based artist Peter King has been a gallery favourite here in Morningside for a number of years now and we are excited to announce his first solo show with us, which will take place this July. Peter’s vivid and evocative interpretations of the Scottish landscape as well as his vibrant floral studies never fail to impress. With a deft hand, his application of colour and texture is both intuitive and considered in depicting the shifting seasons. Summer fields burst into life with thick pops of primary colour while the cool, crisp blues of Autumnal skies contrast perfectly with wild bursts of bright orange light cascading over the foreground and in the colder months we observe soft pink evening glows give shape to distant snowy peaks.
