Tony Laverick trained in Studio Ceramics at Preston Polytechnic in the early eighties before going on to work in the ceramic industry as a designer. He set up his own studio in the Staffordshire Moorlands in 1988 and has worked as a full time professional artist since then. Drawing from various sources and cultures, Tony continues to evolve and expand upon his original vision. Creating his own glazes and applying them in a variety of ways, his surfaces are a dazzling juxtaposition of controlled, linear designs with areas of expressive, painterly decoration.
