Brian Henderson’s paintings are works of wonder, from the selection of objects he chooses for each tableau to the tiny brushes that meticulously render them. Almost always painted at eye – level and from carefully set up and lit constructed models and arrangements, Brian’s paintings juxtapose traditional still life subjects with popular culture. Plastic Mickey Mouse and Tin Tin models share the space with musical instruments, crystal and glass, as Brian explores the properties of light on each surface. Following on from the successful auction of two Brian Henderson paintings for Jeeps For Peace two years ago, Brian has painted another work which we will auction alongside his latest exhibition. Jeeps for Peace is a local Edinburgh charity that delivers vehicles to Ukraine via convoy. They have driven over 350 vehicles already, and have grown from the first convoy led by Dominic Harris and a few Ukrainian friends to the larger group of volunteers that make up the charity today. As another winter approaches, more money needs to be raised for the next convoy of Four Wheeled Drives which will be used to deliver critical supplies of food and medicines, evacuate civilians in danger and retrieve wounded soldiers from the front-line.
The auction will take place online at 6.30 pm on Friday the 15th of November. Details will be sent out via our mailing list email via our mailing list email. The full sale price will be donated.
