HARVEY STAPLETON : LANDSCAPES OF ABANDONMENT

We are delighted to present a feature exhibition of Harvey Stapleton’s paintings. We first encountered Harvey’s work at the 2025 Edinburgh College of Art Degree show. He subsequently featured within our February 2026 Graduate Exhibition, and enjoyed an incredible response to his work. These are dense, tactile paintings with a sensory charge – details emerge and disappear as the surface obscures and reveals, creating a sense of strangeness and quiet intensity within the image. We are reminded of the energy that moves through some of the mark making of of Van Gogh and Anselm Kiefer.
