Throughout history, few subjects have captured the hearts of artists—and audiences—as enduringly as the faithful canine companion. From the earliest known canine images—etched into rock walls over 8,000 years ago—to Pablo Picasso’s paintings of his beloved dachshund Lump, and David Hockneys’ warm and intimate ‘Dog Days’ series, dogs have been a constant source of subject material for artists over the centuries.

Carrying on in this tradition, we have a fantastic line up of artists participating in this exhibition: Joe Hargan, Gordon Mitchell, Louis Sinclair McNally, Stephen Mangan, Gemma Rees, Hilke Macintyre, Gordon Wilson, Catherine Rayner, Helen Fay, Morag Muir, Denise Findlay, Lesley McLaren, Sally Muir, Richard Twose, Fiona macRae, Brian Henderson, Stuart Buchanan, Iain Holman, Georgina McMaster, David Smith, Joyce Gunn Cairns and James Tweedie.

We hope that you will join us in celebrating the opening of this exhibition on Saturday the 24th of May, from 10am, with drinks served from 2-4pm. We will send out a preview of the exhibition via our mailing list.
