KATE BENTLEY : KIMONO JOURNEYS
Kate Bentley’s ‘Kimono Journeys’ opens on Saturday 3rd of February 2024. This group of around twenty five paintings weaves together Kate’s interest in traditional kimonos as works of art in their own right and her love of the human form; it is a breathtaking body of work that conveys both the beauty and the drama of its subject matter.

This first full solo exhibition, entitled Come a Little Closer, is a celebration of the potentials of paint
itself and the transformative impact of colour. These are paintings full of joy and visual intrigue.

Walter Awlson Solo Exhibition
Opens 6th August 2022
An incredible Scottish figurative painter and sculptor, Walter Awlson exhibited regularly with Morningside Gallery from its beginnings in 2003, until he put down his brushes and tools in order to follow another of his passions – the theatre – and in particular stage set design and construction. After some years the urge to paint returned and this rare and exciting exhibition marks a return full circle for Walter, to painting and to exhibiting at Morningside Gallery.
